JONNY MARTIN :

As a maker i am always trying to bring greater appreciation to everyday objects, i want them to be enjoyed - to be loved. I want things that i make and put energy into to last longer, to be used more - to endure. I only build things from materials that can be sustainable produced and avoid materials that have negative impact on our environment. Material traceability is a crucial part of this. My ethos is simple - make less, last longer.

I trained at West Dean College, studying traditional furniture making practices, learning to do everything by hand. Since leaving in 2009, i have worked from commissions and based myself in London. During this time i have become a Teaching Fellow of Making at the Bartlett School of Architecture. In this role i ave helped guide architecture and engineering students through to realization of their designs. In this time i have developed my skills as a fabricator, broadening my skill-set to encompass metal working and digital fabrication processes.

I aim to work across a broad range of design breifs, from a small box to small buildings and everything in between.
